Carrier-certified Cell Modems

Dramatically reduce time to market, certification costs, and risk with industrial modems suitable for low-cost M2M data plans and the Internet of Things.

Introduction

Zoom’s line of carrier-certified industrial cell modems provide reliable wireless connectivity between your equipment and any Internet-connected equipment you choose. These USB and multi-IO modems are easily integrated into your system, and benefit from robust power supply and antenna design. There’s no need to worry about complicated RF designs or an expensive, time consuming, and risky certification process when you choose a ZoomCell modem. Your product will come to market faster, with better performance, lower development and certification costs, and lower risk than a product with an embedded modem.

M2M Services

The cost of M2M plans depends heavily on the amount of data used each month and the number of modems deployed. If many modems are used and each modem sends less than 1 MB of data a month, each cellular data connection can cost only a few dollars per month. M2M service providers will assist in identifying the right plan for a specific application.

Integrators can simply use a SIM available from your local Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile store for a few modems. But those plans provide more data for each modem than most M2M applications require and are significantly more expensive. Most M2M applications use less than 100 MB of data a month and many of them use less than 5 MB a month.

In addition to low cost, many M2M service plans have powerful management features for groups of connected devices. Those management features are not available with a SIM from carrier stores.
